The mission of KidsTLC is to provide opportunities that encourage positive growth and change for children, youth and families while ensuring a safe environment. KidsTLC strives for the preservation and healing of families by providing services, to the extent allowed by their resources, that compliment existing community services while maintaining responsiveness to changing community needs.  JCYM founded KidsTLC in 1972 and has continued as a major supporter of the youth campus life and activities for almost 40 years.  In addition to supporting and staffing fundraising efforts and collecting much needed items, JCYM members plan hands-on game and craft nights with an emphasis on "home life" atmosphere for the youth ages 6-18.  Evergreen Community of Johnson County is a long-term care community of 112 that provides specialized care to a wide variety of individuals, ranging from our active Deaf population to our Memory Care neighborhood.  JCYM volunteers provide companionship for residents, play Bingo each Monday afternoon, host and staff an annual Fashion Show Party and Fall Bazaar, as well as contribute items to make the residents more comfortable.  See a little of what we do.

Headstart's mission is to empower low-income children and families to step up to success by providing early childhood education and comprehensive child and family services.  JCYM volunteers assist Headstart by planning special events for chidren and their parents, staffing events, and helping collect needed supplies. The Christmas Bureau is a coordinating non-profit agency for holiday assistance to low-income families of Johnson County.  Food, clothing, toys, gifts, baby, and personal care items are made available for clients to select at the annual shop held in December.  JCYM volunteers help arrange merchandise, assist clients in selections, and collect donations of new items to be given to the shop.   SAFEHOME, Inc. seeks to break the cycle of sexual and domestic violence and abuse.  This is Johnson County's only shelter for victims of domestic violence, serving women and children from throughout the metro area.  JCYM volunteers assist with ongoing and special projects by working on committees and providing donations.  Trained volunteers assist the shelter as needed.  See a little of what we do.

Friends of the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historical Site.  The Friends of the Shawnee Indian Mission provides and supports preservation and interpretation of this State Historical Site.  The Mission educates the public by providing historical, cultural and recreational experiences.  JCYM volunteers assist in developing programs and provide trained staff for special events such as the Fall Festival, the Christmas Open House and Theme Days.  JCYM also provides Docent  Programs.  See a little of what we do.

"Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it."  --  Marian Eddleman Wright.  This is the foundation of the JCYM Scholarship Program.

The JCYM Scholarship Program was initiated in 2005 with the awarding of four scholarships totalling $2,000.  Since that beginning, it continues to grow with more than 100 scholarships and grants having been awarded.  Club members serve in mentoring roles for awardees and provide support for the students as they work toward bettering not only their lives, but also their families' lives.

Members and friends continue to support the growth of the Program with gifts to the JCYM Scholarship Fund to honor special occasions and friendships, or to memorialize loved ones.  Donations are tax-deductible and are promptly acknowledged.  Those being honored or families of those being memorialized are also informed of the caring being expressed for them.  For more information about the JCYM Scholarship Program or to make a donation, please contact us via this website, or select the "DONATE NOW" button below.

Helping others improve their lives through education is a gift that continues giving throughout the years.

Mission Statement:  "The JCYM Charitable Gift Fund is established to provide a perpetual source of funds to the philanthropies of Johnson County Young Matrons.  Specific agencies are designated annually as JCYM philanthropies and may change over time to meet the evolving social service needs of the community."

The JCYM Charitable Gift Fund is a professionally-managed fund which is allocated among stocks, bonds and cash reserves for conservative growth.  A special Club committee oversees the Fund and recommends to our membership any disbursements to our philanthropies.  JCYM's vision for the Fund is to increase its principal amount to a level that substantially supports our philanthropies.

The JCYM Charitable Gift Fund welcomes bequests and memorials as well as gifts in recognition of special occasions.  Donations will allow JCYM to impact and influence our community in future years.
